After you have downloaded the icc profile (.icm file) from the server to your Windows workstation, you need to install it into your printer setup.
Important notes:
- This is the process for Windows98. If you are using Windows 95, you should upgrade for optimum usage of icc profiles.
- WindowsNT 4.0 and earlier do not support icc profiles, and have no system-level color management system. To use icc profiles in WindowsNT 4.0 and earlier, you will need to purchase and install a third-party color management system such as Agfa ColorTune, Kodak ColorFlow, or Xrite ColorShop.
To start the process, go to Start --> Control Panel --> Printers. Right click on the printer for which you wish to add the icc profile. Select 'Properties.' You will see the following dialog:
Click on the 'Color Management' tab, and click 'Add...' You will then select the icc profile (.icm file) that you will be using with this printer from the dialog below:
Navigate this dialog to find and select the profile you wish to use and click 'Add.' This will add the profile to the system. If at some point you wish to use a different icc profile, you should delete the previous profile before adding a new one.
